¡HOLA! FROM PUERTO RICO!
At Navigating Home Puerto Rico we empower recent graduates by helping them build meaningful connections and pursue excellence in STEM careers. Through strategic partnerships with leading agencies in geological and marine sciences—such as the Department of Natural and Environmental Resources (DRNA), Para la Naturaleza (PLN), Sociedad Ambiente Marino (SAM), and the Jobos Bay National Estuarine Research Reserve (JBANER)—we’ve expanded our reach and impact, supporting efforts in coral reef restoration, climate monitoring, and environmental stewardship.
Fellows gain valuable experience mentoring undergraduates in both classroom settings and during hands-on fieldwork. These opportunities build leadership skills, strengthen STEM pipelines, and enrich professional development.

FELLOWSHIP BENEFITS
As a Navigating Home fellow, you’ll gain more than just experience—you’ll build lasting skills and connections that support your growth as a STEM professional. Fellows play a key role in mentoring undergraduate students, both in the classroom and during hands-on research fieldwork, such as sample collection trips. These mentoring opportunities not only strengthen your leadership and communication skills but also deepen your understanding of collaborative science.
By contributing to a supportive learning environment, you’ll help shape the next generation of scientists while advancing your own career. It’s a chance to grow, lead, and make a real impact.
